Mansa (Punjab) [India], Nov. 12 : The Punjab Police on Saturday recovered Rs. One crore cash (in Rs 500/1000 denominations) from a vehicle in Sardulgarh area of Punjab's Mansa district.
The money was recovered from a commission agent named Sandeep travelling in a Fortuner numbered HR 22K 1121.
Jagtar Singh, SHO, Sardulgarh Police Station, said that they formed a special cell to carry out the search operation.
He also informed that the money has been handed over to the Income Tax Department. Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday announced that the government had decided to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes to tackle the menace of black money.
