Imphal [Manipur], Dec. 6 : The 62nd National School U-17 Girls Football tournament 2016, which began on December 2nd at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, is currently undergoing here in the state capital.
The tournament is being organised by state government's department of youth affairs and sports under the auspices of National School Games Federation of India.
All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has deputed two match commissioners cum referees assessors, along with 20 referees from six DFA/DSAs, for officiating the matches.
19 teams from 19 states, including the host state, are taking part in the tournament. The opening ceremony of the tournament was attended by Dr RK Nimai, consultant to Manipur Government, Dr Harmit Singh Pahuja, Director, Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur and Dr Anil Vashisht, observer, School Games Federation of India as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
