New Delhi [India], Aug.31 : Minister of State for Finance Santosh Gangwar has lavished praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has emerged as a global leader at a time when it was needed.
In an exclusive interview with ETV News Head Jagdeesh Chandra, Gangwar said, "Prime Minister Modi has emerged as a global leader and it was need of the time.
Prime Minister Modi has focused on all those issues, especially basic issues, which are needed to be given attention." "Common people feel that Prime Minister Modi is attached to them," he added.
Giving an example, Gangwar said that Prime Minister Modi is getting in touch with people through his radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat.' Talking about his first meeting with Modi, the Minister of State for Finance said that he him after being elected as a Member of Parliament in 1989.
"But, during 2013, in a meeting with Modi, I suggested him to switch to national politics," he said. It may be recalled that at that time, Gangwar was BJP's in-charge for Odisha and Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat.
