New Delhi [India], Aug 31 : Delhi Dynamos Football Club on Wednesday announced the signing of former Real Madrid midfielder, Marcos Tebar Ramiro for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League.
The 30-year old defensive-midfielder has been signed after his short stint with Spanish Club, U.E. Llagostera. Marcos started his career as a Real Madrid C.F. player and is a product of the club's academy in Madrid. He appeared 94 times for the B-Team and made one appearance for the senior team against CA Osasuna. "I'm very excited about this new stage in my career. I am looking forward to play for the Delhi Dynamos F.C. I am sure the ISL will be an enriching experience for me and I hope to take the maximum from it. My aim is to win the title this season with my new club,"said Marcos. "I intend to learn a lot from coach Zambrotta. He's got immense experience, I am looking forward to working with him and the rest of the team,"Marcos added.
The Spaniard was loaned by Real Madrid to Rayo Vallecano and Girona F.C., both play in the Segunda Division.
In the last couple of years he has played for Segunda Division club UD Almeria and English Championship side Brentford.
Head coach Gianluca Zambrotta is enthusiastic about what the former Real Madrid academy product can bring to the team.
"Marcos is a very talented and experienced player. He has played against the top-flight clubs of Europe and his experience will be very useful for the team.
He has an excellent tactical approach towards the game," said Zambrotta. During his youth career Tebar capped for Spain at the U16 and U17 level. Coming through in the same generation as Cesc Fabregas and David Silva, Tebar was included in the U17 squad for the U17 World Cup and the U17 European Championship in 2003, winning runners-up medals in both tournaments.
