Kathmandu [Nepal], Sept. 10: In a bid to mend ties with the Communist Party of Nepal -Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) leader and former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Prime Minister and Communist Party of Nepal -Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting with the former.
The two largest Communist forces in the country are at odds since the Maoist Centre severed ties with the UML Chairman, and former prime minister K.P.
Sharma Oli-led government and filed a no-confidence motion against him in July, reports the Himalayan Times.
The Parliament elected Dahal as the new Prime Minister on August 3. The UML was consequently thrown into the main opposition role in the House since then and no talks were held between the two parties.
The two leaders met at the Parliament Secretariat yesterday and discussed latest political issues including the Dahal's visit to India scheduled for September 15-18.
