Bengaluru [India], Sept. 14 : After violent protests against release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru is limping back to normalcy.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is holding a meeting on Law and order situation in the morning today. The government has decided to deploy additional central forces in the city and continue prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC till further orders.
Siddaramaiah has sought appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek his intervention to bail out the state from the present crisis as the storage position in reservoirs is poor.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Road Transport buses have started operating to all places except Tamil Nadu. Metro rail has also resumed its service in the city since yesterday night. Modifying its September 5 order, the apex Court earlier on Monday asked the Karnataka Government to release to release 12,000 cusecs of Cauvery River water every day to Tamil Nadu till September 20.
It had earlier directed the Karnataka Government to release of 15,000 cusecs of water for 10 days as immediate relief to farmers in Tamil Nadu.
