Mumbai, Nov 24 : Breaking his silence after nearly 36 hours, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar took to Twitter on Sunday to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, top ministers and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, while still maintaining that he was with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
He changed his status to 'Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra/Nationalist Congress Party leader, although he was sacked as the party's Legislative Party head on Sunday by the NCP.
"I am in the NCP and shall always be in the NCP and @PawarSpeaks Saheb (Sharad Pawar) is our leader.
"Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable Government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the State and its people," Ajit Pawar teeted.
"There is absolutely no need to worry, all is well.
However, a little patience is required," he added.
Earlier, he thanked the Prime Minister, top BJP leaders, Union ministers and others for their best wishes after he was sworn-in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra early on Saturday morning along with BJP's Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister.
"Thank You, Hon.
Prime Ministerji. We will ensure a stable government that will work hard for the welfare of the people of Maharashtra," he said in a series of English tweets, a change from his usual Marathi tweets.
Ajit Pawar also conveyed his gratitude to Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah, BJP working President J.P.
Nadda, and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, D.V.
Sadananda Gowda and Dharmendra Pradhan for their best wishes on his taking over as the new Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister.
The series of tweets from Ajit Pawar were the first communication from his side after he took the oath early on Saturday morning, sparking off a huge political crisis in the state.
While the matter is now pending before the Supreme Court, the NCP is making all efforts to bring him back into the party fold, though the latest series tweets is a clear indicator of AJit Pawar's mind.
