Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Sept.15 : In a first of its kind, a Ganapati idol made of snow has emerged as a major attraction for devotees on the last day of Ganeshotsav in Mumbai.
Standing 5.50 feet tall, this eco-friendly Ganapati has been made with 300 kilograms of soft snow and has been kept in a minus 10 degree enclosure at the "Snow world" theme based park here.
Many devotees visited the place and performed aarti and offered prayers. Abhay and Sushant are the artists who have created this innovative Ganapati idol, besides other items.
"Ever since the eco-friendly Ganapati concept has been introduced, we artists strive to prepare new and innovative Ganapati idols.
I took 10 to 15 days to make this Ganapati," Abhay said. "We had decided that we will complete it in these 10 to 15 days. It is made of soft snow and approximately 300 kgs of snow was used to make the eco-friendly Ganpati, keeping in mind that our environment is not disturbed," he added "I saw Ganapati made of snow for the first time and felt really good while doing pooja and Aarti," said a devotee, Roshni.
