London [UK], Sept. 15 : Stepping aside from her speak-for-itself practical support of younger designers, the White House's First Lady was recently seen dancing down the aisle in a Gucci dress as she appeared on 'The Ellen Show.' Michelle Obama had worn one of Allessandro Michele's dresses, a design from Gucci's spring/summer 2016 collection, to appear on one of the TV program in the US, reports The Telegraph.
The Gucci dress is reportedly based on a map called 'La Carte de Tendre', created by novelist and philosopher Madeleine de Scudery in 1654 as a 'guide to romance.' Milestones like 'Generosity', 'Sincerity' and 'The Lake of Indifference' mark the spots on the design, which also comes with delicate sequin detailing around the neckline and waist.
The First Lady of the United States is actually known for her relaxed and feminine take on her style of clothing.
For the past eight years of her husband's reign- be it accompanying him to a ball or welcoming the Indian Prime Minister, the 52-year-old lawyer's clothing has always come with a very considered message, to promote young design talent.
The stylish mother of two would often chose young and upcoming designers like Jason Wu, Christopher Kane and Roksanda Ilincic in the UK, Thakoon, Altuzarra and Proenza Schouler, and the Indian Naeem Khan to design her clothes for various functions.
