Shallow fog in Delhi on Sunday, AQI close to 300-mark

New Delhi, Jan 5 : The National Capital Region (NCR) on Sunday witnessed shallow fog with visibility of 800 metres in the early morning hours, and the air quality recorded under the 'poor' category, close to the 300-mark.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature was 7 degrees Celsius on Sunday.



"There will be partly cloudy sky with shallow fog in the morning. Maximum temperature is likely to hover around 21 degrees Celsius," the IMD said.

The maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 21.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above the average, while the minimum temperature settled at 8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average.



The visibility at Palam at 5.30 a.m. was recorded at 600 metres, the IMD said.

Major pollutants PM 2.5 level was recorded at 264 and PM 10 at 260, both in 'poor category' in Lodhi Road area around 5.30 a.m., according to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data.
