Five dead in Jaffer Express blast in Balochistan

Quetta (Balochistan) [Pakistan], Oct. 7 : Two bombs exploded near Rawalpindi-bound Jaffer Express in Machh area of Bolan district killing at least five people and leaving 19 others wounded on Friday.

It is still not clear whether the bombs were planted on the track or inside the train. "The train was travelling to Rawalpindi from Quetta," the Express tribune quoted a railway source as saying.

An emergency was declared across all state-run hospitals. The injured are being taken to Quetta for treatment. Ten seriously injured persons in the explosions were taken to city by Army Aviation helicopters. An inquiry into the blasts has been ordered by Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri. He condemned the attack and ordered immediate treatment for the injured. Till now, no group has claimed the responsibility for the blasts..
