Seoul, Sep 1 : South Korea reported 235 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, raising the total number of infections to 20,182.
The daily caseload stayed below 300 for three days, but it has continued to grow in triple digits since August 14, reports Xinhua news agency.
The number of confirmed cases for the past 19 days reached 5,412 owing to infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province linked to church services and a massive rally held in on August 15.
Of the new cases, 93 were Seoul residents, 60 from Gyeonggi, while 13 were imported.
The were no new deaths.
The toll currently stood at 324.
A total of 225 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 15,198.
The total recovery rate was 75.30 per cent.
Since January 3, the country has tested more than 1.95 million people.
