Exclusive: 19th edition of the Kingfisher Calendar 2021

New Delhi, Jan 7 (IANSlife) The year 2021 is here and so is Kingfisher's glamorous property -- the illustrious Kingfisher Calendar.

Shot in the picturesque emerald and deep backwaters of Kerala, this year's calendar is a tapestry of serenity and beauty, with high glamour.

Fashion photographer, Atul Kasbekar who has been associated with the calendar since its inception has intricately woven a narrative amongst the relaxed backwaters and lush greenery of the state.

Kerala is known for its scenic locations and beautiful landscape.

Featuring five enchanting beauties -- Gehna Mahiarya, Krithika Babu, Anukreethy Vas, Adline Castelino and Sumita Bhandari; the Calendar is known to feature and introduce some of the hottest faces from the world of modelling.

The girls were styled and looks created by a stellar team which included stylist Allia Al Rufai, make-up by Maniasha Fialkina and hair stylist Flavien Heldt.



To kick off the 19th edition, lifestyle channel Goodtimes, will be showing its viewers an inside peek into the making of the Calendar 2021.

It will showcase a closer look of the behind-the-scenes action, swimsuit trends, dazzling models and the tranquil landscape of Kerala through the lens of Atul Kasbekar.

Talking about his experience on the making of the calendar, Atul Kasbekar commented, "We have shot the Kingfisher calendar in India in the past in Ladakh, Andaman, Rajasthan, Goa and Kerala has always been on the top of my location list.

The glorious state is truly the God's own country and it gives us many options to maneuver and choose locations accordingly.

Given the massive number of water bodies it possesses, from the oceans to the backwaters and the lakes, it is a feast for a photographer.

We were very keen to shoot locally this year and we could not have chosen a better location to be at. The people of the state are wonderfully warm, polite and keen to assist, along with the cuisine which is absolutely unbelievable."

The Calendar was introduced in 2003, and is a pioneer in fashion, glitz and glamour, which are synonymous with the brand which is also associated with various sports teams featured in the coveted IPL and the upcoming ISL leagues.

It is also a prominent partner to Sunburn, India's largest music festival and a key partner with various horse racing and fashion events across the country.

Models include Gehna Mahiarya, an upcoming model who is Atul Kasbekar's discovery, immense international potential.

Krithika Babu who is a South Indian actress and model. She was also crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss Perfect 10, she was also Femina Miss India South first runner up 2009 and Femina miss India 3rd runner up 2010.

Anukreethy Vas is an beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Femina Miss India 2018 while Adline Castelino is a beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2020.

Last and certainly not the least is NIFT graduate and Miss India 2018 finalist Sumita Bhandari.
