Shimla, Jan 16 : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday said in the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination, 93,000 doses would be administered to frontline warriors, including healthcare workers.
Launching the vaccination programme here, he said on the first day, 2,529 healthcare workers were administered doses at 27 identified sites in the state.
He said about 74,500 health workers would be vaccinated and each beneficiary would be provided two doses and the second dose would be administered after an interval of 28 days.
Thakur said the government had constituted a state-level steering committee, the state task force, the district task force and the block task force to monitor the administration of the vaccine.
The state vaccination store has been set up in Shimla, while the regional stores have been established in Mandi and Dharamshala towns.
He said district vaccine stores have been set up in all 12 districts, besides 386 cold chain points.
The Chief Minister urged the people to ensure that all precautions are maintained despite getting the Covid-19 vaccine.
