Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Nov. 14 : Ousted Samajwadi Party general secretary Ramgopal Yadav on Monday broke down while defending the corruption charges levelled against him and said that injustice has been meted out to him.
"I still believe that I am a part of the Samajwadi Party even if I am not operating officially," he told the media here.
Expressing sorrow over the corruption charges levelled against him, Ramgopal further said that he never wanted to be a minister or hold any office.
"If the people think that injustice has been done with me then they should do justice," he said. Without taking any specific name, he alleged that some people were illegally distributing the Samajwadi Party's ticket for their ulterior motives.
Earlier in October, Ramgopal was expelled from the party by Mulayam Singh Yadav. Announcing the decision, state party chief Shivpal Yadav levelled serious charges of corruption, manipulation and sabotage against Ramgopal.
He accused Ramgopal of conniving with the BJP to harm the Samajwadi Party. Prior to this, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav sacked four of his Cabinet ministers, including his bete noire Shivpal.
