"'Women of Essence' award is a very special award for me because I understand the struggle of the female actresses, what they have to go through to reach where they reach and that's because of the strength of women and who they are.

The nominees in the various categories were determined by a panel of established personalities from within the film industry which included Falguni and Shane Peacock, Malaika Arora Khan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mickey Contractor, Shiamak Davar and Neeta Lulla.
The award ceremony was a grand success graced by some of the most prominent personalities in the industry.
