Washington D.C. [USA], Nov. 19 : With its Christmas Special, 'Doctor Who' is all set to make up for the nearly entire year gone without new episodes.
In the exclusive sneak peek of this year's Christmas Special, called 'The Return of Doctor Mysterio', the doctor teams up with an investigative journalist played by Charity Wakefield and a comic-book superhero played by Justin Chatwin to save New York from a "deadly alien" threat, reports E! Online.
Said Chatwin in the release, "Working with the amazing people at Doctor Who has been one of the most fun and rewarding projects I've ever had the pleasure of being involved with." "I've always loved superheroes and this Christmas, 'Doctor Who' dives into that world," showrunner Steven Moffat said in a press release announcing the hour-long special.
The episode will also feature Matt Lucas, Adetomiwa Edun, Aleksandar Jovanovic and Logan Hoffman. While the doctor's fans wait for season 10 to begin in April 2017, the 2016 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special will air on BBC America on December 25.
