Uttarakhand, July 30 : Newly appointed Uttrakhand Minister Navprabhat is yet to be given a portfolio. He said such uncertainty does not send out a positive message to the public. Rajendra Singh Bhandari, MLA from Badrinath in Chamoli district, and Nav Prabhat, from Vikas Nagar in Dehradun district, were the two ministers inducted into the Uttarakhand Cabinet.
"I haven't had a discussion about this matter with the chief minister yet. And now it is his discretion to decide about the matter," Navprabhat told ANI. "Right now, a situation like this is not sending a positive message to the public, it should not have had happened," He added.
Bhandari and Prabhat both are two-time MLAs. Prabhat had also served as forest minister during the Congress government headed by N.D. Tiwari from 2002 to 2007. The move has helped complete the 12-member quorum of the cabinet in Uttarakhand as per the constitutional requirement.
Both new ministers were inducted to fill the vacancies caused by the demise of Surendra Rakesh, Bahujan Samaj Party MLA from Bhagwanpur in Haridwar district in 2015, and the resignation of agriculture minister Harak Singh Rawat after his revolt against the Harish Rawat regime.
Harak Singh Rawat later joined BJP along with eight other Congress rebels..
