Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan. 29 : Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said the former who contradicts his own statements considers himself to be the number one leader and doesn't perceive anyone in the number two position.
"The Prime Minister says he is number one and there is no number two for him," he said while addressing a joint press conference with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Gandhi further hit out at the government's demonetisation drive, saying it has hurt the people of the nation.
Slamming Prime Minister Modi for supporting the Shirmonai Akali Dal (SAD), he said the former pitches for corrupt-free India while he is backing a tainted party.
The Congress vice-president yesterday also cornered Prime Minister Modi for the same during a public rally in Punjab's Majitha.
"Prime Minister Modi claims to fight against corruption, then how can he support the Akali Dal? The entire nation knows Akali Dal has ruined Punjab," Gandhi said.
The Prime Minister had hit back at Gandhi's remark during a rally in Goa, saying the corrupt people, who have been hiding their black money for last 70 years are worried post denomination.
