Mumbai, (Maharashtra) [India], Feb 22 : Even with Pakistan cancelling the licences of 44 weapons issued to Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed and his aides, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has asserted that the JUD terrorists' so called house arrest in Pakistan is nothing more than a sham.
"Hafiz Saeed has been under strict house arrest is what we have been told about, but what I think is that he is in a 'Guest House' where he is being looked after and fed well by all his so called custodian.
He is given everything that he wants, he is an esteem guest rather than a prisoner there," NCP leader Majeed Memon told ANI here.
Further on asserting to the fact, Majeed said that people like Saeed don't need a license to possess weapon.
They can posses any highly powerful weapon even without license. "Now that Pakistan has issued a statement where India has cancelled his (Hafiz) licenses for fire arms, this does not seem to be impressing any further.
Because people like him do not need to have licenses, these terrorist can possess sophisticated and highly powerful weapon anytime and anywhere," NCP leader Majeed Memon said.
When asked if India would join hands with Pakistan to discourage terrorism, Majeed Memon said, "If Pakistan is really serious in discouraging terrorism they need to take stern action against people or prisoners like Hafiz Saeed, otherwise nothing will change".
Last week, the provincial government of Punjab in Pakistan had included names of Saeed and his four aides in the 'Fourth Schedule' of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
