Eight terrorists killed in Karachi encounter

Karachi [Pakistan], Feb. 22 : At least eight terrorists, including a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander, Gul Zaman, have been killed in an encounter with the law enforcers in the Bakra Piri area of Malir.

The Express Tribune quoted SSP Rao Anwar as saying that the suspects, who were planning to carry out a major attack in the Karachi, were killed after law enforcers raided there hideouts in the Bakra Piri area.

The police retrieved a large number of arms and ammunition from their hideout. Anwar also informed the raid was carried out on a tip-off about the terrorists' whereabouts in the area.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF), earlier on late Tuesday night, killed several militants as it joined an anti-terrorist operation near Pak-Afghan border.

"The PAF engaged terrorists' concentration late last night in Rajgal area, Khyber Agency - bordering Afghanistan.

Many terrorists killed. Hideout[s] destroyed," said an Inter Services Public Relations statement..
