New Delhi [India], Mar. 24 : Hollywood actor and longtime Obama supporter Kal Penn took to Twitter to post a series of searingly sarcastic tweets that target the low participation of 'people of colour' in the current White House or the GOP, led by President Donald Trump.
Penn posted a picture consisting of him and five other people, who helped former United States president barack Obama draft the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare, during his regime.
Penn took the opportunity to hail the Obama administration to allow employment of people of colour as his advisors, quite contrary to what the current President Donald Trump has been upto - writing off immigrants.
the reason a few of us appear dark in the pic is cuz we are people of color. I know they don't have many in the current White House or GOP The 'Harold and Kumar' actor has been a part of the White House Office of Public Liaison, run by Obama senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, who also took to Twitter to praise the team for drafting the healthcare bill.
Penn, born to Indian immigrant parents in the U.S., was primarily involved in dealing with Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and the arts community at the POTUS.
Penn was the associate director at the White House Office of Public Engagement from 2009 till 2011, where he focused on issues such as increasing financial aid and bringing Americans back from Iraq.
Meanwhile, in a major setback to Trump, the Republicans have delayed health care reform vote putting the Obamacare repeal in jeopardy.
Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan have been lobbying members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and also moderate Republicans in an attempt to reach the 216 votes they need to pass the bill.
