New Delhi [India], Mar. 31 : As the city welcomes the new season, Bungalow 8 gets summer-ready with an exciting collaboration coming from another land of the tropic.
It was in back in 2009, when Maithili Ahluwalia, owner of Bungalow 8, visited Colombo and fell in love with the vibe of the colourful city.
She met with Sri Lanka's first family of fashion - Santh Fernando and his daughter Annika. While the illustrious father personally runs his iconic Gallery Cafe; designer curator and connoisseur Annika owns a fashion, concept and lifestyle store PR Sri Lanka.
Maithili returned to India with an urge to bring these renowned aesthetes to Bungalow 8 with a co-curated collection.
This summer, Bungalow 8 brings over 200 pieces from designers who have been carefully handpicked by PR Sri Lanka for this eclectic popup event at Mumbai's favourite fashion destination.
Both design houses are known for picking the best of local flavours to weave into creations that have global appeal.
It's these mirroring design ethics that make the Bungalow 8 x PR Sri Lanka the perfect match! The breezy and colourful collection exudes a Boho-chic vibe for summer.
Annika brings designers such as Sonali Dharmawardena, who uses traditional batik and gives it an unexpected spin; KUR, that evokes old Ceylon with handmade Dutch Lace in breezy silhouettes; Papillon Du The, her sister Saskia's jewellery brand that is chic modern, among others.
Each piece in the debut Bungalow 8 x PR Sri Lanka popup exhibit is meant to travel well, taking their unique story to the world.
One chapter at a time!.
