Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Apr. 3 : Fatehpur Superintendent of Police, Umesh Kumar Singh on Monday said the ammonia leakage from a cold storage here has been controlled and 42 workers have been evacuated till now.
"The building was weak as the roof and the wall collapsed, the gas pipeline also got damaged. The leakage has been controlled. There is no leakage now, we just have to ensure that nobody is trapped inside. As per the information there were 42 workers and all of them have been evacuated," Singh told ANI. Singh added that there is no need to worry as Ammonia is not so lethal. Earlier, chaos erupted at Jahanabad's Narayanpur area in Uttar Pradesh after ammonia leaked from a cold storage.
The police cordoned off the area and stopped movement of transportation within two kilometres of the vicinity even as people were being evacuated from the area.
