Washington D.C. [USA], Apr. 11 : Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, witnessed a colourful evening filled with traditional dances and handicrafts by the artists from Rajasthan.
A famous six-member Kalbeliadance group led by Moru Sapera from Rajasthan yesterday gave an enthralling performance of Kalbelia, Chari, Ghoomer, Bhawai and other dances of the state.
The Brazilian government officials, diplomats and culture lovers were among those who attended the event.
The audience gave a standing ovation to the artists, who showcased Rajasthan's rich heritage. On the sidelines of the event, five artisans from Rajasthan - Hanuman Saini showcased his exquisite paintings with natural colours, Avaz Mohammed displayed his lac work, Mustakim Kachara exhibited fine Kota Doriasarees, Ram Chandra demonstrated traditional leather shoes while Santosh Kumar Dhanopia showcased his block printing work on textiles.
