Lahore/Hyderabad [Pakistan], Apr. 17 : A woman, who was arrested after the Lahore encounter, had earlier visited Syria to join the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group.
Dawn, citing sources, reported that the law enforcement agencies are interrogating the arrested female, who has been identified as Naureen Leghari, was a medical student from Hyderabad and had came to Lahore about three weeks ago.
According to sources, she was being tracked by security personnel and had also received training in Syria for using weapons.
Leghari was arrested after her husband was killed in an encounter in Lahore on Friday night. She had married Ali Tariq after leaving her home and had joined militants through social media. Security personnel had reportedly contacted her family in Hyderabad after they had found her college card and her father's computerised national identity card from their hideout.
Sources said that Leghari was being interrogated about the modus operandi of the militant network and other people associated with it.
