Washington D.C. [USA], May 28 : Veteran American singer Cher paid a heartfelt tribute to her former husband Gregg Allman, following his death at the age of 69 years.
Expressing love for her former husband, the 71-year-old actor took to her Twitter handle and shared a series of posts.
In the first Tweet she wrote, "IVE TRIED.WORDS ARE IMPOSSIBLE GUI GUI?? FOREVER, CHOOCH (sic)." Later she followed up another tweet, posting a picture of the duo.
After two back-to-back tweets, she posted another tweet with a picture of Gregg, captioning it as, "Chank, Thinking bout funny,crazy,amazing Macon days,dear friend..." The news of Allman's demise was posted on his website on Saturday, which stated, 'Allman passed away peacefully at his home in Savannah, Georgia.' Cher was married to the 'Whipping Post' singer for five years from 1975 to 1979.
The soulful singer was known for his long blond hair. He was born on December 8, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee. He found love for music in his teens and began performing with his brother in the mid 1960s, for a band that would eventually become famous as 'The Allman Brothers Band'.
