Hyderabad bomb blast 2005: Nampally court acquits all 10 accused

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India] August 10 (AN): Hyderabad's Nampally court on Thursday acquitted all 10 accused in the 2005 Hyderabad bomb blast case.

Metropolitan Sessions Court judge T. Srinivas Rao exonerated the accused, who were jailed for more than a decade. According to defence advocate Abdul Azeem, the court acquitted the accused as the prosecution failed to provide substantial evidence.

One of the 10 arrested men was out on bail, while the others were still in prison. On October 12, 2005, a suicide bomber had blown himself up at the Task Force office in Hyderabad's Begumpet area.

The blast killed a home guard and injured another. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to investigate the case and it claimed that Harkatul Jihad-e-Islami (HUJI) of Bangladesh was involved in the blast.

It also identified the suicide bomber as HUJI activist Dalin..
