New Delhi, Aug 15 : The Airport Authority of India (AAI) on Monday celebrated 70th Independence Day here with great fervour and gusto.
A flag hoisting ceremony and cultural programme was held in which Kendriya Vidhalaya students gave mesmerizing performance on patriotic theme, enthralling the audience.
AAI Chairman Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra addressed the members and conveyed the message of working with excellence and dedication and to contribute for country's growth.
"Airport Authority of India has a major mandate in development of the country. Our work is to make flying safer. We are public servants so it's our responsibility to contribute in nation's growth. So we pledge on occasion of Independence Day that we will dedicate ourselves to work for the country. I want to see all round development, development of airports and up-gradation of technical services, new airports and completion of projects in time and professional excellence.
We are working for it and moving forward," Mohapatra said. In a separate event, a flag hoisting ceremony and prize distribution for children in art and dance was also organised by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of the airport body.
Chairman and Member (HR) of the AAI, Anuj Aggarwal, also planted a tree sapling as a good gesture towards environment.
"Not only in Delhi, but the flag is hoisted at all 125 airports. We want our employees and their families to pledge to take the nation further and I wish them best of luck.
AAI is continuously improving the infrastructure. And best way to serve nation is to fulfill duties sincerely," he said. The national flag was unfurled at all the 125 airports across the country..
