Aamir Khan’s next, Lal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan, and an official adaptation of Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump (1994), begins shoot in Punjab from November 1. Aamir plays a simple-minded yet loveable character from Punjab and has been learning the language for the same. It’s also said that Ajay Devgn has met Shraddha for discussions. But, in a very recent development, apparently, Shraddha is not doing Luv Ranjan’s movie as she has been approached by Chhichhore director Nitesh Tiwari for his ambitious 600-crore period saga, Ramayana, to play the role of Sita. Prabhas as Ravan and Hrithik Roshan as Ram are also in talks for the movie.

After Deepika and Ranveer Singh’s wedding at Lake Como last year, his sister Ritika Bhavnani had thrown a private party for the couple at The Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. Shraddha Kapoor was the only Bollywood star (apart from Deepika and Ranveer) who had attended the party with her good friend Rohan Shreshta as the ace photographer is a close friend of Ranveer.

Earlier she was offered Thugs Of Hindostan by Aditya Chopra but it didn’t work out for various reasons. If Ramayana works out for her, it will also mean her first period drama.”

For Salman Khan and Dabanggg 3 (produced by Arbaaz Khan) franchise fans, a double bonanza is coming up in the month of October. The movie releases on December 20, barely three months from now and not one but two glimpses of Prabhu Devas’s next, starring Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kichcha Sudeep, Saiee and Mahesh Manjrekar, will be seen across theatres in October – a 90 second teaser and a three-minute trailer loaded with action between Salman and Kichcha Sudeep. Interestingly, while the teaser will appear with War on October 2, the trailer will appear with Housefull 4 on October 25.
Housefull 4, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Farhad Samji, stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Kharbanda, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Rana Daggubati among others. Akshay and Salman are expected to clash for their next big releases on Eid 2020, which is a big date for Bollywood releases and has had Salman usually occupying the slot. Akshay has already announced, Laxmmi Bomb, as his Eid release next year.
Says a trade source, “Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman are very good friends so it was natural that Salman would request Sajid to attach Dabangg 3 trailer to his movie. Housefull 4 is one of the biggest entertainers of 2019, greatly anticipated with a huge star cast and exciting theme of reincarnation and releasing during Diwali, so attaching any trailer with it will garner maximum eyeballs. While much has been spoken about Salman and Akshay’s clash during Eid 2020, the trailer release proves that there is no issue between them. Akshay would know that Dabangg trailer is appearing with Housefull 4 as Sajid would have informed him. But Dabangg 3 trailer releasing with Housefull 4 in theatres will be exciting and many will flock to watch a glimpse of the highly anticipated action cop drama on the big screen. While Housefull 4 is a family entertainer, the Dabangg 3 is said to have some stunning action sequences.”
The trade source adds that the double treat for Salman fans is an intelligent marketing strategy. “Dabangg 3 releases on December 20, about three months away and Salman and producer Arbaaz Khan are going all out to keep the fans interest alive for the movie. It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year and everybody is keen to know when the first creative will hit the audiences. The makers have now planned a double treat. After the 18-second motion teaser which was released last week on social media, now Salman and Arbaaz have decided to give two glimpses of Dabangg 3 for the audiences. One is a 90-second second teaser which will be attached to Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War movie which releases across theatres on October 2 and a social media release a day before and a three-minute trailer which will be attached to the Akshay Kumar-Riteish Deshmukh-Bobby Deol starrer, Housefull 4, which releases on October 25, and is the Diwali (October 27) week. Both War and Housefull 4 are huge releases and are expected to garner the maximum eyeballs, hence the decision was taken for the two creatives to release on two days.”

They finished a schedule in Ladakh for Shamshera at the end of August and after coming back to Mumbai, have been rehearsing since then on a grand set constructed at Film City. In January, a huge set of a fort had been constructed in Film City for the same.
Says a source, “While he works within a controlled budget, Aditya Chopra doesn’t believe in holding back money where it’s due. Apparently, it will be an elaborate, lavishly shot dance sequence shot on a set where a massive dance floor has been set up. The ambience is very traditional and authentic yet portraying a sensuousness. It will combine classical dancing, folklore with contemporary movements of those times, so it’s an intricate dance number with complex steps. Yet one cannot call it an item number. It will be picturised on Ranbir and Vaani and choregraphed by an ace choreography – either Vaibhavi Merchant or Ganesh Acharya or Saroj Khan. Right now, YRF is being tight-lipped about the details. Vaani is an excellent dancer and so is Ranbir so it will be exciting to see them doing such a hot number together on screen. Vaani will have an earthy, sexy look in the song. She has been learning kathak as she apparently plays a mujrewali in Shamshera, a dance artiste who travels from village to village on her shows. On one such show, she meets Ranbir and falls in love with him and it is their romantic sizzling track that will be picturized next week as she entices him to love her. But he is a man on a mission – fighting for his country and not easily lured. The romantic song will involve lots of dancers and will be picturised on an opulent and elaborate scale depicting the romance between the two actors. It’s an important track in the movie as their romance takes off from there.”
Based in the 18th century India where revolutionaries, fighting for independence from the Britishers, would often be labelled as thugs or dacoits by them, so that they could be jailed, Shamshera or Shamsher Singh (Ranbir Kapoor) was the leader of the revolutionaries who fought for their rights and independence from the British as the foreigners labelled him as a dacoit. While Shamshera was a brave warrior who fought for his country and brought together his tribe to fight for their independence, he also robbed the rich and was ruthless when thwarted. Ranbir and Vaani will be seen in never-seen-before avatar as they have been portrayed in Shamshera. It’s a story of heroism, passion, love for one's country, duty above all, friendship and compassion. While Sanjay Dutt’s character, being the antagonist, is a revelation. The movie is written and directed by Karan Malhotra. Apparently, Ranbir Kapoor plays a double role, as Shamshera and his father (but for a short time), in the movie.

Shraddha Kapoor was the only Bollywood star (apart from Deepika and Ranveer) who had attended the party with her good friend Rohan Shreshta as the ace photographer is a close friend of Ranveer.
Says a trade source, “While there has been speculation that Deepika Padukone is playing the role of Sita, Nitesh is keen to cast Shraddha and approached her for the same. They have worked together in the recently released, Chhichhore and apart from the movie being a super hit, they share a great working rapport. It’s true that Shraddha was approached for Luv Ranjan’s next, as the female lead opposite Ranbir Kapoor and she was extremely excited as the offer came from the superhit filmmaker and she has never worked with Ranbir before. But she got the Ramayana offer and apparently, had to turn it down as those dates of both movies (shooting begins next year) were clashing. Ramayana won’t start till 2020 and she is also busy with her other movies (Street Dancer 3D and Baaghi 3) which will be complete before Nitesh’s movie begins.”
Interestingly, Bollywood has been afloat with talk of Deepika signing Ramayana to play Sita. The source adds, “Maybe there had been talks earlier but now Shraddha is definitely in talks for the role of Sita. If Shraddha signs Ramayana, it would also mean her choosing Hrithik over Ranbir (Luv Ranjan’s film) and she has not worked with the senior actor too, earlier. Shraddha is in a very exciting space now. Except Batti Gul Meter Chalu, she has had successive hits in Stree, Chhichhore and Saaho and has signed one of the hottest sequels of the year, Baaghi 3. Shraddha is being offered the best of roles and movies, but she is being choosy right now as she needs to sign what’s best for her. Earlier she was offered Thugs Of Hindostan by Aditya Chopra but it didn’t work out for various reasons. If Ramayana works out for her, it will also mean her first period drama.”
According to media reports, Nitesh Tiwari has said that his next movie (after Chhichhore) will be Ramayana which will be made as a trilogy. But no formal announcement has appeared regarding the film’s casting as apparently the project is still in the conceptual stages.

For Salman Khan and Dabanggg 3 (produced by Arbaaz Khan) franchise fans, a double bonanza is coming up in the month of October. The movie releases on December 20, barely three months from now and not one but two glimpses of Prabhu Devas’s next, starring Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kichcha Sudeep, Saiee and Mahesh Manjrekar, will be seen across theatres in October – a 90 second teaser and a three-minute trailer loaded with action between Salman and Kichcha Sudeep. Interestingly, while the teaser will appear with War on October 2, the trailer will appear with Housefull 4 on October 25.
Housefull 4, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Farhad Samji, stars Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Kharbanda, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde and Rana Daggubati among others. Akshay and Salman are expected to clash for their next big releases on Eid 2020, which is a big date for Bollywood releases and has had Salman usually occupying the slot. Akshay has already announced, Laxmmi Bomb, as his Eid release next year.
Says a trade source, “Sajid Nadiadwala and Salman are very good friends so it was natural that Salman would request Sajid to attach Dabangg 3 trailer to his movie. Housefull 4 is one of the biggest entertainers of 2019, greatly anticipated with a huge star cast and exciting theme of reincarnation and releasing during Diwali, so attaching any trailer with it will garner maximum eyeballs. While much has been spoken about Salman and Akshay’s clash during Eid 2020, the trailer release proves that there is no issue between them. Akshay would know that Dabangg trailer is appearing with Housefull 4 as Sajid would have informed him. But Dabangg 3 trailer releasing with Housefull 4 in theatres will be exciting and many will flock to watch a glimpse of the highly anticipated action cop drama on the big screen. While Housefull 4 is a family entertainer, the Dabangg 3 is said to have some stunning action sequences.”
The trade source adds that the double treat for Salman fans is an intelligent marketing strategy. “Dabangg 3 releases on December 20, about three months away and Salman and producer Arbaaz Khan are going all out to keep the fans interest alive for the movie. It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year and everybody is keen to know when the first creative will hit the audiences. The makers have now planned a double treat. After the 18-second motion teaser which was released last week on social media, now Salman and Arbaaz have decided to give two glimpses of Dabangg 3 for the audiences. One is a 90-second second teaser which will be attached to Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War movie which releases across theatres on October 2 and a social media release a day before and a three-minute trailer which will be attached to the Akshay Kumar-Riteish Deshmukh-Bobby Deol starrer, Housefull 4, which releases on October 25, and is the Diwali (October 27) week. Both War and Housefull 4 are huge releases and are expected to garner the maximum eyeballs, hence the decision was taken for the two creatives to release on two days.”
The source adds that the teaser is expected to have a glimpse of Salman (as Chulbul Pandey) as he is now and in his younger avatar and Sonakshi Sinha as his wife Rajjo. “The trailer will give introduce south star Kichcha Sudeep who plays the antagonist and negative lead in Dabangg 3 and Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee. It will also give a glimpse of high-octane action sequences. The first song between Salman and Sonakshi will come in the second week of November. Though Prabhu Deva, Salman Khan and the Dabangg 3 unit are currently shooting for the movie in Mumbai, post-production work is going on simultaneously and the director is working on the teaser post the shoot so he gets it ready by October 2. The teaser will first release on social media on October 1 by Salman, Kichcha, Sonakshi, Prabhu Deva and Arbaaz and then will appear again at the theatres the next day with War.”

For those saying Aditya Chopra’s Shamshera starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, and directed by Karan Malhotra, is not happening – here’s news for them! A grand set, worth crores, has been constructed at Film City for over the last month and Ranbir and Vaani have been rehearsing there since last week (before Ranbir flew off to Kenya to holiday with his girlfriend Alia Bhatt). They finished a schedule in Ladakh for Shamshera at the end of August and after coming back to Mumbai, have been rehearsing since then on a grand set constructed at Film City. In January, a huge set of a fort had been constructed in Film City for the same.
Says a source, “While he works within a controlled budget, Aditya Chopra doesn’t believe in holding back money where it’s due. Apparently, it will be an elaborate, lavishly shot dance sequence shot on a set where a massive dance floor has been set up. The ambience is very traditional and authentic yet portraying a sensuousness. It will combine classical dancing, folklore with contemporary movements of those times, so it’s an intricate dance number with complex steps. Yet one cannot call it an item number. It will be picturised on Ranbir and Vaani and choregraphed by an ace choreography – either Vaibhavi Merchant or Ganesh Acharya or Saroj Khan. Right now, YRF is being tight-lipped about the details. Vaani is an excellent dancer and so is Ranbir so it will be exciting to see them doing such a hot number together on screen. Vaani will have an earthy, sexy look in the song. She has been learning kathak as she apparently plays a mujrewali in Shamshera, a dance artiste who travels from village to village on her shows. On one such show, she meets Ranbir and falls in love with him and it is their romantic sizzling track that will be picturized next week as she entices him to love her. But he is a man on a mission – fighting for his country and not easily lured. The romantic song will involve lots of dancers and will be picturised on an opulent and elaborate scale depicting the romance between the two actors. It’s an important track in the movie as their romance takes off from there.”
Based in the 18th century India where revolutionaries, fighting for independence from the Britishers, would often be labelled as thugs or dacoits by them, so that they could be jailed, Shamshera or Shamsher Singh (Ranbir Kapoor) was the leader of the revolutionaries who fought for their rights and independence from the British as the foreigners labelled him as a dacoit. While Shamshera was a brave warrior who fought for his country and brought together his tribe to fight for their independence, he also robbed the rich and was ruthless when thwarted. Ranbir and Vaani will be seen in never-seen-before avatar as they have been portrayed in Shamshera. It’s a story of heroism, passion, love for one's country, duty above all, friendship and compassion. While Sanjay Dutt’s character, being the antagonist, is a revelation. The movie is written and directed by Karan Malhotra. Apparently, Ranbir Kapoor plays a double role, as Shamshera and his father (but for a short time), in the movie.
The source adds that the Ranbir Kapoor - Vaani Kapoor song will be shot from September 14, after the actor returns from his Kenyan holiday with Alia Bhatt in a few days. He is currently on a jungle safari with Alia at the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
