New Delhi, Aug 17 : Internationally renowned pioneer in monitors designed for eSports BenQ has announced its acquisition of ZOWIE, one of the leading brands in e-gaming accessories and equipment.
The strategic partnership with ZOWIE would strengthen BenQ's position in the industry as a company that fully supports the entertainment and gaming ecosystem.
Coming a full circle with a strong market hold in providing hardware for competitive gaming, the partnership with ZOWIE would enable the brand to further its focus on e-Sports in the country.
BenQ will continue to show its commitment to gamers by providing eSports athletes with premium professional gaming products via the ZOWIE identity.
All future BenQ gaming-related merchandise will be introduced under the ZOWIE name. Combining the core competences of BenQ and ZOWIE, new ZOWIE-branded eSports devices will focus on ergonomics and personalization to provide innovations that truly enhance player performance and enjoyment.
"India is moving towards becoming a hub for e-Sports, with more people taking this up as a serious hobby or even a full time career.
That being said, the avenues to explore the passion are limited and that is something that BenQ aims to strengthen for e-gamers in the country," said India Managing Director of BenQ, Rajeev Singh.
"With annual properties such as extremesland, we aim to make this segment of the industry larger than ever before.
With BenQ's Zowie in the fore front in India, e-Sports here will soon be at par with the rest of the world," added Rajeev Singh.
