New Delhi [India], Sept. 14 : It is always a proud moment for a father to see his son stepping into his shoes. The same happened at the music launch event of Harshvardhan Kapoor-starrer 'Mirzya,' which left father Anil Kapoor with a bucket-full of emotions.
While speaking about this 'joyous moment,' the 'Jhakkas' actor stated, "It is a very joyous moment for me.
I is a great pride that today my son Harshvardhan Kapoor is here. All I can say is 'beta ho toh aisa' but it's just he does not listen to me at all." Kapoor even said that unlike the general perception, he had no role to play in Harshvardhan's debut in the film industry.
"I know people are very apprehensive about stars' sons, but I can assure you whatever Harsh has done today, he has done that all on his own.
He has got this film on his own," he said. Hence the 59-year-old actor asked the audience not to "expect anything like me from him. That is what his strength is." All in tears, Kapoor further spoke about his family's immense contribution to the showbiz and asked people to shower the same love and appreciation on Harsh too.
"Life has come full circle for me. My father came to this Mumbai film industry a few decades back. He saw success and disappointment, but that gave me and my brothers the strength," he said, adding, "The entire family has given blood and sweats to this business, never compromised, did no scams.
So whatever love you have given me for so many years, I want you all to give it to my son." The entire Kapoor family, including Sonam and Rhea, uncle Boney with actress wife Sridevi, were present at the event yesterday.
Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, 'Mirzyaa' introduces Saiyami Kher opposite Harshvardhan. Penned by Gulzar, the movie, which depicts the tragic love story of Mirza-Sahiban, is slated to release on October 7.
