Patna (Bihar) [India], Nov. 2 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not attend the silver jubilee celebrations of Uttar Pradesh's ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) in Lucknow on November 5.
According to reports, Janata Dal (United) national spokesperson K. C. Tyagi said Nitish discussed his invitation with party leaders before deciding not to go. "He is not going that is for sure. The other party leaders will attend the function or not, it will be confirmed soon. It is politics and there is nothing like someone is angry. The acceptability of Nitish Kumar is high. However, we have never announced his name as the PM candidate," JD (U) leader Ajay Alok told ANI here.
The Samajwadi Party, which was initially part of Bihar's grand alliance, had walked out of after it was offered only a handful of seats to contest last year's assembly elections.
The grand alliance of JD (U), RJD and Congress had, however, scripted a glorious electoral victory, defeating the BJP-led NDA.
