Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Aug. 8 : The Cabinet meeting of Gujarat's new government will be held today. Newly appointed Chief Minister Vijay Rupani yesterday said the Cabinet meeting of the new government will be held today to decide on the future course of the government.
Talking to reporters after his swearing-in ceremony, Rupani said the government will also decide on programmes and their implementation during the meeting.
Rupani was yesterday sworn-in as the 16th Chief Minister of Gujarat. Besides him, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel along with 25 members of council of ministers was also administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor O.
P. Kohli. Rupani will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar this morning before taking charge of his office. Meanwhile, in a related development, senior BJP MLA Mr.Parbat Patel has been made pro-tem Speaker by the Governor till the office of the Speaker is vacant.
Ganpat Vasava and Atmaram Parmar has resigned from the post of Speaker and Deputy Speaker following their elevation as the Cabinet Ministers in the new Vijay Rupani Government.
