New Delhi [India], Aug 9 : Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Wednesday chaired a high level meeting to review the activities for prevention and control of vector borne diseases.
Nadda, in the meeting, assured all states of full support and assistance. "The government is extending support to all states, be it for issues related to testing kits, medicines, training, increasing bed capacity," Nadda said.
He further highlighted the important role of the field level workers, and municipal corporations and municipalities in control and prevention of these vector borne diseases.
The Union Minister directed to involve municipalities and corporations at the ground level for more effective and joint efforts.
Noting that community participation and empowerment are the most crucial areas in prevention, Nadda urged all the stakeholders to start rigorous awareness campaigns regarding the preventive steps to be taken by the people in their communities.
"All the available information on the measures taken by the Ministry should be easily available to the people through various media channels.
Awareness is the key in controlling the vector borne diseases and no stone should be left unturned to reach out," Nadda said.
