Mumbai [India], Nov. 23 : Condemning the Machil incident where three Indian soldiers were killed and one of their bodies was mutilated by Pakistani militants under cover of army fire, the Shiv Sena has asked the Centre to give a befitting reply and "prove" its patriotism.
"Just for Rs.2000, the government has forced the people to stand in long queues and you say that these people are displaying their patriotism, I may agree with it, but what about Pakistan which has time and again been abusing our soldiers, when will this government give proof of its patriotism," Shiv Sena member Sanjay Raut told ANI.
He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government needs to do something as its neighbour has been escalating its artillery attack on India post the surgical strike of September 18.
"Pakistan is giving us hints that one surgical strike is not enough for them. We are not asking for war, but the situation warrants the government to do something," Raut added. Three Indian soldiers were killed yesterday. The body of one of them was found mutilated. "Three soldiers killed in action on LoC in Machil. Body of one soldier mutilated, retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act," the army tweeted. This is the second such instance of a soldier's body being mutilated near the LoC in the last two months.
