Los Angeles [USA], August 10 : The Coen Brothers are heading to Netflix. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming giant has picked up the pair's Western anthology 'The Ballad of Buster Scruggs'.
Produced by Annapurna Television, the project will be written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and is slated to debut in 2018.
The series will have six tales about the American frontier. Each chapter will tell a distinct story about the American West and Tim Blake Nelson will star as Buster.
Annapurna's Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle will serve as executive producers, alongside longtime Coen brothers' collaborator Robert Graf and the Coens themselves.
Talking about the project, Coen Brothers said, "We are streaming, motherf****rs!" Netflix's vp original content Cindy Holland added, "The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers and colorful linguists.
We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents.".
