Mumbai [India], June 22 : The latest movie to be under the censor board's radar is Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Jab Harry met Sejal' and the reason behind it is the word 'intercourse' used in the second mini trail.
Reportedly, the board has asked the makers to delete the word from the upcoming film to get a U/A certification.
While expressing no objection over running the promo on the digital platform, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Pahlaj Nihalani told ANI that relaying the downloaded uncut trailer on television is not correct.
"We have not given any certification till now. According to our process, if any producer wants any rating, then we go through the film and ask them to cut or correct whichever part doesn't fit in to the format.
We still have not given any certificate to the promo of the particular film you are talking about and they also have not corrected it.
Promo, running on the digital platform needs no certification. The producer has released it on digital platform. The media has picked it up from there and relayed on TV, which they should not have done. The clipping which runs on TV needs certification, it is a rule. No commercial or news items come without certification," he said. Citing the example of Deepika Padukone's special number from the film 'Raabta,' Nihalani further said, "Earlier, during 'Raabta,' they showed the whole dance number of Deepika Padukone, which had some cuts and censorships.
It is extremely wrong to take out from the digital desk and use on television. If producer gives these items, then it's a different story. But taking it from digital platform, which is uncensored, is wrong as TV items need certifications." For the unversed, the second mini trailer of Imtiaz Ali's romantic comedy, titled 'Indemnity Bond,' shows an interaction between Harry aka SRK and Sejal aka Anushka , where she reveals that she is a lawyer who handles "legal matters in family business." In the 37-second teaser, Sejal shares the bond with Harry which states that if they get intimate or engage in "sexual intercourse," then he would be "absolved of all legal charges." This leaves the Punjabi munda in a complete shock and all he replies is "vadhiya ji vadhiya." The movie is all set to hit the theatres on August 4.
