Mumbai [India], Nov.15 : Indian opener KL Rahul, who has fully recovered from his hamstring injury, has been retained in the squad for the second Test against England beginning from Thursday at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
"The All India Senior Selection Committee has decided to add India batsman KL Rahul to the Indian squad ahead of the second Test of the Paytm Test Series - 2016 between India and England to be played at Vizag from November 17, 2016," the BCCI confirmed the news via media release.
"Rahul has fully recovered from his right hamstring injury and would be joining the squad today (November 15, 2016)," they added.
The 24-year-old sustained the hamstring injury during the opening Test of the recently-concluded series whitewash against New Zealand and was eventually ruled out of the remaining two matches as well as the drawn first Test against England.
Rahul might have earned a place in the Test squad following his recent impressive performance in the Ranji Trophy for Karnataka against Rajasthan, where he scored 76 from 85 balls in the first innings, followed by an unbeaten 32 in the second innings.
