New Delhi, March 19 : The Group of Ministers (GOM) met at Nirman Bhawan, here on Thursday, to review the coronavirus situation.
Ministers, including S. Jaishankar, Hardeep Singh Puri and Harshvardhan, attended the meet.
After the meeting, Civil Aviation Joint Secretary Rubina Ali said Air India would send a 787-Dreamliner to Rome to evacuate Indian students and other travellers.
"We are in close touch with our mission there," she said.
Amid the growing number of positive coronavirus cases in the country, the government has decided to not allow any international flight to land in India for one week from March 22.
"No scheduled international commercial passenger aircraft shall be allowed to land in India from March 22 for one week," the government said in a statement.
The GoM asked the state governments to issue appropriate directions to senior citizens to remain at home.
Meanwhile, Health Secretary Lov Agarwal said there was no proof of community spread of coronavirus.
There has been 173 active Covid-19 cases till 5 p.m.
on Thursday, including 25 foreign nationals, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Covid-19 has claimed four lives -- one each in Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka and Punjab.
