Karachi [Pakistan], Feb.18 : Describing Misbah-ul-Haq as a `great leader`, Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has said that the beleaguered Test skipper will be given all the respect and a rousing see-off whenever he decides to bid adieu to cricket.
While reflecting on Misbah's retirement plans, Arthur revealed that he had a conversation with the former a few days ago and that he would now have another detailed chat with him regarding his retirement.
"I really can't say what he has planned but I will be talking to him again then [we] will see what he has planned," the Dawn quoted Arthur as saying.
The South African coach insisted that Misbah has contributed a lot to the Pakistan cricket and, therefore, he truly deserves to get all the appreciation and respect.
"Misbah has given a lot to the team and he is a legend for Pakistan's cricket. He is a great leader and deserves all the appreciation and all the respect and a good sign off which he deserves either now or whenever he decides to go," he said.
The 42-year-old skipper has been at the receiving end towards the late end of his career. However, leaving the 0-2 thrashing against New Zealand, followed by 0-3 whitewash against Australia, the 42-year-old has been the shining star for the side.
He also inspired Pakistan to the top of the ICC Test team rankings for the first time in history. Although their stint at the top was short-lived as India replaced them..
