Gandhinagar, Sep 8 : Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil was admitted in Apollo Hospital in Ahmedabad on Tuesday afternoon for suspected coronavirus infection.
His RT-PCR test results are awaited, though his treatment has been started on the basis of HRCT scans.
Patil's blood reports vis-a-vis Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) turned out to be negative.
Thereafter, samples were drawn for RT-PCR tests and sent to the lab.
"My health is good. I have tested negative on the RAT test while the RT-PCR results are pending. I am totally well right now," the Gujarat BJP President tweeted.
Patil is the BJP Lok Sabha MP from Navsari in Gujarat.
He was appointed to the BJP post in July.
Patil had, after taking over the party post, recently gone on a 4-day tour of Saurashtra and 3-day tour of north Gujarat.
Big rallies were held, wherein social distancing norms were violated by people who crowded the venues.
State BJP headquarter 'Kamalam' in Gandhinagar has been barricaded.
According to sources, six of its staff have been found corona positive.
