Gandhinagar, Dec 22 : Gujarat on Tuesday saw 988 new coronavirus cases, taking its tally to 2,37,247, while the death toll rose to 4,248, with seven more succumbing.
In December so far, the state has added 27,358 cases at a daily average of 1,243.
A total of 1,209 patients were discharged, taking the total of cured to 2,21,602, while there are 11,397 active cases.
Ahmedabad saw 209 new cases, Surat 160, Vadodara 137, Rajkot 133 and Mehsana 35.
Gandhinagar had 33, Kheda 32, Jamnagar 27, Panchmahals 24, Dahod 23, Junagadh and Bhavnagar 15 each, Kutch, Banaskantha, and Mahisagar 13 each, Bharuch, Sabarkantha, Surendranagar, and Amreli 10 each, Anand, Morbi, Patan, and Narmada nine each, Gir-Somnath seven, Aravalli five, Valsad four, Botad, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Navsari three each, Tapi and Chotta Udepur two each and Porbandar one.
Five deaths were reported from Ahmedabad and one each from Surat and Botad.
Health authorities have so far conducted 91,62,980 tests, while 5,05,674 people are under quarantine.
