New Delhi [India], April 1 : India and Malaysia on Saturday inked seven pacts to expand cooperation in several areas including air services and sports.
The other areas in which MoUs were signed are mutual recognition of educational qualifications and expanding cooperation in development of Urea and Ammonia manufacturing plants.
The pacts were signed after delegation level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak in New Delhi.
Here is a list of the MoUs signed: Air Services Agreement between India and Malaysia. MoU on Cooperation in the proposed development of a Urea and Ammonia Manufacturing Plant in Malaysia and offtake of exisiting surplus urea from Malaysia to India - It envisages Malaysian consortium of Isomeric Holding Sdn Bhd and Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd to put up a 2.5 MT/annum urea and ammonia manufacturing plant in Melacca, Malaysia for dedicated consumption by India.
And offtake to India the existing surplus Urea from Malaysia as per India's requirement. MoU on Cooperation in the Field of Sports: The MOU envisages cooperation through exchange of sportspersons, instructors, information on sports regimen and training curricula, etc.
MoU between the Malaysian Human Resource Fund (HRDF)/ Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) and EDII, Ahmedabad for cooperation in training, etc.: The MOU envisages EDII, Ahmedabad carrying out training and other capacity building programmes, as necessary on behalf of the Human Resource Development, Malaysia.
MoU between Association of Indian Universities (AIU), India and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), Malaysia on Mutual Recognition of the Educational Qualifications: The MOU establishes recognition of equivalence of the various degrees awarded by educational institutions in the two countries, and envisages the eventual signing of a mutual recognition agreement between the two Education/ Higher Education Ministries, following technical consultations.
The MoU between Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), India: Collaboration in technology development in the field of Palm Oil.
MoU between MIGHT Technology Malaysia and AP Economic Development Board on implementation of 4th Generation Technology Park in AP: The Malaysian industry- government group for high power technology (MIGHT) will act as facilitator to develop a cluster in AP.
As part of fourth generation technology park, packing material would be made from recycled agricultural materials.
