New Delhi [India], Oct.20 : India have won the toss and elected to field first in the second ODI of the five-match series against New Zealand here at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Thursday.
After winning the toss, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said, "No variable bounce, we'll be happy. If there is dew, it will be easier. Very dangerous side, important to respect the opposition and start from scratch. Last game, it was coming onto the bat better. The bowlers will have to adjust. This will have lesser bounce. Same team." Talking about the pitch, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson said that the surface looks dry before adding that they are hoping to build up partnership early.
"Quite a dry surface, hopefully can use it first up. Need to build partnerships early. If the dew comes in, we'll have to adapt. Want a good start, boundaries are short. Openers, top order have to adjust," he said. As far as Playing XI is concerned, India is going with the same team that clinched a six-wicket win in the opening match in Dharamsala.
Meanwhile, the visitors have made three changes in the team. Matt Henry , Trent Boult and Anton Devcich have been called in as a replacement for Doug Bracewell, Jimmy Neesham and Ish Sodhi.
While Kane Williamson's 'Black Caps' is struggling to stay afloat in the series, India's 'Captain Cool' is fighting a different battle to remain the 'supreme' commander' of the Men in Blue.
