Indonesia Open: Srikanth to take on Japan’s Kazumasa Sakai in final

Jakarta [Indonesia], June 18 : Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth will aim to clinch Indonesia Super Series Premier title when he takes on unseeded Kazumasa Sakai of Japan in the final of the men' singles event here on Sunday.

Srikanth had earlier kept his nerve as he clinched a 21-15, 14-21, 24-22 win over second-seed Son Wan Ho of Korea in a 73-minute semi-final clash to enter the summit showdown.

Sakai, on the other hand, booked his place in the finals after defeating India's H.S. Prannoy 21-17, 26-28, 18-21 in his last-four clash that lasted for one hour and sixteen minutes. This is Srikanth's second consecutive Super Series Final and fourth overall with the 22nd ranked Indian reaching the summit showdown of the Singapore Open back in April, when he lost to his fellow countryman B.

Sai Praneeth. Srikanth is bidding to clinch his third Super Series title after notching victories in the 2014 China Open and the 2015 India Open.
