Asturias [Spain], Apr. 16 : A last-minute goal from Isco helped Real Madrid snatch a dramatic 3-2 win against relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon at the El Molinon Stadium in Asturias, Spain on Saturday.
Sporting Gijon, who came into this match five points from safety, put in a superb performance and, therefore, should consider themselves unlucky not to have left with at least a point.
Sporting went into the lead in the 14th minute of the game when Mikel Vesga scooped a pass over Madrid's defence which Duje Cop slammed home.
However, three minutes later Isco scored the equaliser with a brilliant individual goal, reports goal.com.
Vesga then again put Sporting in the lead with a looping header before in the second half Alvaro Morata levelled with his head in the 59th minute.
However, it was Isco's late winner helped the Zinadine Zidane side to move six points clear of title rivals Barcelona at the top of La Liga.
The defeat means Sporting remain five points adrift of safety with just six games remaining. Real Madrid made nine changes to the team from their Champions League victory at Bayern Munich, with the second leg to come on Tuesday.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were left out of the squad entirely alongside the injured Gareth Bale, whilst Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Marcelo had to settle for a place on the bench.
