London [England], Sept. 3 : Rapper Kanye West recently revealed that the video of his latest song 'Fade' is inspired from the porn films of 70's and 80's.
Eli Russell Linnetz, the director of the video, who is currently in the middle of a "one-year artist residency", remained engrossed in the blue movies of that era to draw ideas and inspiration for the video, reports the Independent.
"Flashdance is just so iconic that it's hard to move away from that, but the Ohio Players' album covers were our starting point.
Some people picked up on the Grace Jones boxing images by Jean-Paul Goude," said Linnetz. "I pulled a lot of references from '70s and '80s porn, just on Pornhub. That was less about the imagery and more about the texture of the skin, the oiliness. There's John Carpenter films, The Fly," he continued, adding, "There's also things like Dancing With the Stars, the Olympics and the N.B.A.
championship." Having completed his graduation from the University of Southern California, Linnetz has been working with the 37-year-old recording artist since he was 17-year-old.
