New Delhi, Aug 29 : An MoU signed between India and the UK in April will help promote cooperation in the fields of animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries and increase production and productivity of Indian livestock and fisheries, the Union Cabinet said on Wednesday.
The MoU was signed on April 17.
"The partnership is expected to improve livestock health and breeding and fisheries, aiming at enhancing dairy, fisheries and animal products for domestic consumption and export," said a Cabinet statement here.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also promote consultation and cooperation on livestock husbandry, fisheries and dairy on matters of mutual concern or interest.
"A Joint Working Group comprising representatives from each party will be created to formulate joint programmes and to facilitate cooperation and consultations," the statement added.
