Kathmandu, Aug. 3 : The Nepali Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre (CPN-MC), who are likely to win the prime ministerial poll with a heavy margin on Wednesday, have convinced the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) to support Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his proposed government.
Following the agreement, the constituents of the UDMF would vote for Dahal in the prime ministerial election to be held today, reports the Himalayan Times.
The trio has agreed that the new government under Dahal would table a Constitution amendment proposal at the Parliament to address demands of the agitating parties.
Similarly, an investigation commission would also be formed under a former judge to probe into incidents of violence occurred during the anti-Constitution protests led by the UDMF and the Federal Alliance.
